Following are some of the wrong or incorrect ways of breaking up a romantic relationship with someone:

Don’t break up with someone on any special occasion such as on their birthday, your anniversary, any holiday, or close to any important day in their life as doing so can be highly insensitive.

Don’t break up with someone in front of others or even in public places such as a restaurant or subway as that can be very impersonal.

Don’t break up with someone just via sending them a text message or email as it is an important matter and should be dealt with seriousness.

Don’t break up with someone by going into details as it can make things more sour remembering the good old days.

Don’t break up with someone by camouflaging the real reason as everyone deserves to at least know why they are getting dumped.

Don’t break up with someone while you are drunk or note in your senses as that can make things even more ugly.

Don’t break up with someone on social media by posting a message on your wall or changing your status as that can highly insulting.

Don’t break up with someone right after spending a long time with them as that can make the person hate you even more.

Don’t break up with someone by just disappearing, ignoring, or backing off as that can make the other person feel you have planned it for a long time.

Don’t break up with someone using one of the clichéd lines by saying it’s you and not them, or that you are not worth their love as all these are just an indirect way of saying that you don’t want to be with them anymore.

Don’t break up with someone by giving false hopes that there is a potential for things to be back to normal as it’s morally incorrect to raise someone’s hopes when there is no certainty.

Don’t break up with someone by offering to stay in touch as it will be easier for the other person to get over you without being in contact.

Don’t break up with someone by being bitter or mean as it will make you look like a monster and the other person may start hating you.

Don’t break with someone by being dishonest as it is not good to lie in order to end things with them.

Don’t break up with someone by completely blocking them from all sources as everyone deserves to be heard and be given a fair chance.

Don’t break up with someone in bad terms as it is always desirable to end things without any sort of animosity or hatred.

Please keep the above points in mind while breaking up with someone so as to minimize any collateral damage.
