Freedom In Relationship

Freedom And Liberty In Relationships Are Essential And Vital

Freedom in romantic relationship means being free to take actions or decisions on your own without interference. Both partners are at full liberty to do whatever they want without jeopardizing their relationship. Freedom leads to a feeling of fresh air. Liberty leads to exercising your rights. When you combine these two forces in a relationship, it can work as powerful catalyst and will not only make things last forever, it will also solidify the bond that your share between each other.

When there is freedom in a relationship, there is no concept of domination or supremacy. No one tries to control or dictate the other. Both partners take responsibility for their deeds and are not answerable to anyone. They have full independence and autonomy.

If there is freedom in a relationship, both partners govern themselves and take credit for what they do. For instance, if one of the partners pursues singing and wins a national championship, then that’s their achievement and they deserve every credit for it. At the same time, they also need to take responsibility for their actions. For instance, if one partner wants to learn driving and gets into a wreck and totals the car, then they need to take responsibility for that as well.

With freedom, comes understanding and forgiveness. Life is a mixed bag of good and bad things. People make mistakes and learn from it. The real meaning of a relationship is to make each other happy, not miserable. Both partners should be forthcoming and supportive of each other’s endeavors as long as they are reasonable.

Lack of freedom in a relationship often leads to a feeling of imprisonment. One feels that they are in a cage or a prison cell. This gives birth to feelings of frustration and suffocation, both of which can be extremely harmful for any relationship. A healthy relationship needs some level of sovereignty so that it can nurture itself. Of course, the level or degree of freedom should be within reasonable limits so that it doesn’t break the boundaries drawn by a relationship.

Freedom in relationship leads to growth, both individually as well as jointly as a couple. It also means there is enough trust in each other so as to be free to do what one wants. Not to mention, it also results in building confidence in yourself. When you do things on your own, you gain confidence. This also makes you more matured and responsible. Hence, it is vital to have freedom and liberty in any healthy romantic relationship so long as it’s within limits and is mutually acceptable by both partners..

Hence, freedom is essential in a relationship. It is also equally important to do things with mutual consent and acceptance. Make sure that freedom in a relationship never crosses those limits. If it does, then that’s where the problems can begin to emerge.

So be respectful of each other’s freedom. Remain within the parameters of moralities and ethicalities of a relationship. If you want total freedom, then it may be time to ponder whether you even want to be in a committed relationship. It may very well be that you will be happier alone than in a union with another person. Think through your preferences and make an intelligent selection of what you want in life.
