The term “intrasex” is derived from the word “intra” meaning “within,” and “sex,” which means “related to sex,” hence, “intra-sex” literally means “romantic c or sexual attraction towards people within a system.”

The term “intrasex” or “intrasexual” is used to describe a person who experience sexual and romantic as well as emotional and aesthetic attraction towards people of the same system, intraromantic is a more commonly-used term, simply because of the difficulties of two members of the same system engaging in a sexual relationship.
