The term “stealth trans” is derived from “stealth,” which means “secretive or covertly,” and “trans,” which means “transsexual,” hence, “stealth-trans” literally means “a trans person, but secretly or covertly.”
The term “stealth” is a slur or slang that is used to describe a trans person who is not “out” as trans, and is known or perceived by others as cisgender.
Stealth is a behavior in the transsexual community in which a fully transitioned person lives entirely as their new gender, but does not disclose that they are transsexual.
A transsexual person may choose to go “stealth” in order to avoid transphobia and bigotry, or maybe because they wish to be looked upon as simply a straight male or female instead of a transsexual.
