What Is The Meaning Or Definition Of The Five Love Languages:

There are many love languages, but only five primary love languages. These are the five ways to express love emotionally and physically. If you want to love someone, then you must learn to speak if you're going to love that person and be loved back. It entails the way we wish to love and feel loved. Each person is different, and we all have a slightly different approach to love and being loved. Each person may define and express feeling love in slightly or sometimes radically different ways. Learning and understanding the various forms of expressing love will help you in knowing how best to love your partner just the way they may expect you to love them.

Words of Affirmation:

This love language expresses love by making use of spoken expressions. Spoken words of affirmation don’t have to be fancy, and sometimes just a few words can do magic. If your partner’s primary language happens to be words of affirmation, your spoken words could do wonders in your relationship, be it a word of appreciation or praise. Soon you will see a new life in your relationship, mushrooming from your words of pure love. By the same token, stay miles away from any kind of negative or insulting verbiage as that could leave permanent marks of damage in your relationship.
Examples of words of affirmation: complimenting your spouse on their new outfit or telling them how wonderful they look.

Acts of Service:

This love language expresses love by doing things instead of just saying words. We all have heard the saying that actions speak louder than words, which is particularly befitting in a romantic relationship. If your partner’s primary language happens to be acts of service, your simple actions can do great things in your relationship. These are things that require thoughts as well as time and effort. Of course, stay away from doing something out of obligation or doing them just for the hell of it.
Examples of acts of service: lending your hand in household chores or picking up the mail on your way back home.

Receiving Gifts:

This love language expresses love by giving gifts. The gifts that you provide do not have to be expensive, and it is the thought that matters most and not the price. If your partner’s primary language is to receive gifts as that makes them feel special, then go all out for it. Giving presents has always been thought of as a way to express love to a beloved. We all like receiving gifts, and it is a universal way of pleasing someone, and you do not have to wait for any special occasion to give a gift to your spouse as every day is a special day. Remember, never give any gifts that your partner dislikes or hates.
Examples of receiving gifts: handwritten notes with a flower plucked from your backyard or just a bunch of flowers from a local store.

Quality Time:

This love language expresses love by spending quality time as a couple by giving each other undivided attention. Turn off the television and phones or any other distractions, then just locks your eyes and indulge in deep conversations. If your partner’s primary language is quality time, just make them your center of attraction. Taking time out can be hard for a few people, but you got to take some time if you want your relationship to work. It does not mean that you quit your job and sit with your partner all day long, you just have to take time out whenever possible. Please note, arrange a time when it is convenient to both you and your partner and never cancel a date or preplanned time to be spent together.
Examples of quality time: a home-cooked meal with some wine by the fireplace or playing a board game on the weekend.

Physical Touch:

This love language expresses love by engaging in physical touch. Humans are born with the knowledge of understanding touch as soon as they are born as young babies. If your partner’s primary language is physical touch, the best way to express your love to them is by physically touching them. They may even appreciate the public display of affection. Such people don’t care too much about other forms of expressing love. As a precautionary note, make sure to touch as much as possible even if you feel you express your love in different ways.
Examples of physical touch: light making-out sessions with a lot of hugs and kisses or full-fledged sexual intercourse.

What Is My Love Language:

Each of the love languages of love is important as each gives an entirely different way of expressing love. The only thing you need to do is first learn your primary love language and then your partner’s, only then you will be able to communicate in the same language of love to make your romantic relationship even stronger.
