What Is The Meaning Or Definition Of Gender Expression Or Gender Presentation:

The term “gender expression” or “gender presentation” is used to describe the external or outward display of a person's gender identity, behavior, mannerisms, interests, socialization, and appearance to others, through a combination of clothing, dressing, grooming, hairstyles, demeanor, body language, social behavior, how they carry themselves, and many other factors, generally made sense of on scales of masculinity and femininity. Gender expression is also referred to as gender presentation, which can be intentional or unintentional.

Gender expression also includes gender roles, which basically rely on stereotypes about gender. Gender expression is how one expresses their gender identity in terms of masculinity, femininity, both, or neither, which may or may not conform to socially defined behaviors and characteristics typically associated with being either masculine or feminine.

One can express their gender to others by their external display of gender, usually expressed through a combination of haircut, clothing, behavior, or voice, how they do their hair, how they dress, how they talk, how they act, how they walk, among many other factors, Such factors are generally measured on scales of masculinity and femininity.

Gender expression includes all the ways in which a person outwardly expresses their gender depending on gender norms as perceived by society. Some people tend to have the same gender expression throughout their lifetime, while others may change their expression over time depending on circumstances or situations.
