What Is The Meaning Or Definition Of Trans Person:
The term “trans person” is derived from “trans,” which means “across from or on the other side of” and “person,” which means “human being,” hence, “trans-person” literally means “a person whose gender is across from or on the other side of the norm.”
The term “trans” is a prefix that is used to describe a transgender person, which refers to someone whose gender does not align with the gender they were assigned at birth.
Trans is not aligned with what was determined at birth, whereas cis is aligned with what was determined at birth.
Trans person can mean transsexual or transgender, and the term trans is more inclusive than transgender for gender non-conforming and non-binary folks.
Trans is an umbrella term covering a range of identities that transgress socially defined gender norms. It includes explicitly non-binary identities, as well as transgender men, known as transmen, and transgender women, known as transwomen.
Transman, transwoman, a man or woman who was not assigned that gender at birth, and transitioned, socially, medically, and legally, from that assignment to their gender identity. It is signified by the second part of the term, that is “-man,” or “-woman,” some trans people prefer to just keep the prefix “trans-“ in their identity label.
